Punnagavarali

Punnagavarali is the janya raga of Hanumathodi, the 8th  Melakartha Raga. This raga was born out of a traditional tune used by snake charmers. There is wide belief that, if this raga is sung around the dusk or late night, may invite the attraction of snake to the place. Spiritually speaking, snake represent one's "Kundalini Shakthi" and if Punnagavarali is listened carefully with full dedication and in a meditation stage, stirs the listner's  Kundalini.
